The rise of generative UI is poised to shake up UX design as we know it. Are we ready?

I just read the insightful Nielsen Norman Group article on a new term I've heard - GenUI.

Here's my take:

The Upside:

Personalisation at scale: Imagine every user getting an experience tailored to their needs – a huge win for inclusivity and accessibility.

Focus on user outcomes: GenUI could free designers to focus on the big picture, the "why" behind the interface.

The Challenges

The AI hurdle: Will we overcome the inherent biases and limitations of generative AI models before they're baked into our interfaces?

Usability vs. novelty: Can we balance customisation with the familiarity and predictability users crave?

Privacy concerns: The data needed for true personalisation is a double-edged sword.

My question for you all: Do the potential benefits of GenUI outweigh the risks? What excites you most – or worries you – about this shift?
